Assistant Accountant/Accounts Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register
  • Processing and coding of Invoices and Receipts to Sales Ledger in Sage
  • Reconciliation of debtor balances, create aged debt reports and timely collection of debt
  • Preparation and posting of journals at month end including prepayments and accruals
  • Assist with Management Accounts
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Preparation and digital submission of HMRC Vat Return Quarterly
  • Bank account and Credit Card processing and Reconciliations
  • Monthly Intercompany Journals
  • Processing weekly payroll on Sage
  • Other accounts related tasks as required

Essential Personal Criteria:

  • Fully Qualified Accounting Technician / Degree in Accountancy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook Word and Excel
  • Excellent planning and organizational Skills
  • Excellent Numerical Skills and Attention to detail
  • Capacity to work independently and the flexibility to work as part of a team
  • Possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience working in the Coach/Travel Industry
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 Multicurrency Accounting Software
